Kathy McDonald: (1-7-2012) (Kendrick) - Talked to Mike who said Kathy has completed 2 rounds of chemotherapy for bladder cancer. He had the lung thorascopic procedure done yesterday and was still in the recovery area waiting to be transferred to a room. He said they biopsied the upper & lower lobes in his right lung but it will be next week before he get the results. He said he probably should discharges from the hospital tomorrow. Please remember to keep Tommy and his family in your thoughts and prayers. Received the following email from Tommy. Sent: Tuesday, January 10, 2012 11:04 PM (Delvin) Update Just a quick note to give everyone an update of the results from my lung surgery and biopsy. Five nodules were remove from my right lung and have been identified as a cancer by the name of "adenocarcinoma mucinous." This is a different type of cancer from the plasma cell that was found in my throat. This type of cancer is usually found or associated with the upper G.I. tract or the pancreas. I will be meeting with the oncologist on Friday for a new treatment plan that will probably be chemotherapy; and for additional testing to try and find the source of the cancer. Your prayers and support mean the world to me, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.God bless, Update -1-``19-12) (Kendrick) Received an email from Tommy advising he will be getting a porta-cath put in at St. Luke's hospital in the morning and start chemotherapy on Monday morning if all goes well. He had an abdominal CT scan done this past Monday and it showed a mass in the upper part of his stomach right below the esophagus. Dr. Hu, his oncologist, believes the cancer originated from this area of his GI tract and then metastasized in the lungs.  He has diagnosed it as stage four adenocarcinoma, based on the pathology reports and scans. Again, he thanks all of you for your prayers and support.

Don Alexander (1-8-12 - Nelson))  Don's wife reports that she and Don are now back home in Destin, Fla where he will see his new cardiologist there this week.  His doctors in Houston released him advising that his new valve is working like it is supposed to, his blood pressure is lower and he is tired but glad to get home. E-mail message as received from A.P. Smith  (1-10-12 - Forrest) went to my heart doctor yesterday (Tuesday 1-10-12) He checked me and done an ekg. From that test he said he needs to do heart cath on me. He will do it tomorrow morning (Thursday) He has me taking medication to help my heart pump better but from the EKG he thinks something is wrong because the medication is not doing the job like it should. I report to the National Park Hospital at 6:3- AM tomorrow. All of this plus a bad case of COPD, I'm in trouble. Hard to breathe and get out of breadth very easy. More if and when I find out. .A.P. Smith E-mail message as received 1-13-12 from A.P. Smith-Update (Forrest) Yesterday morning (Thursday) My heart doctor did a cath on my heart and found that there was 80% blockage in my AOROTA He did not say exactly where it was, but he used a stent after he opened it up.
