EARL HARING, Member of the Houston Police Retired Officer Assn., was 22, and I was 16, he was just out of the Marine Corp., serving 2 years in Japan, he had $300.00. I thought he was rich. He slept on his back I slept with my head on his chest, listening to his strong heart beat, I would think about what would I do if that heart quit beating. That golden heart stopped beating on June 29, 2009. Earl was a Christian, he loved God, his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and his many, many friends, and his work. He never met a stranger, or anyone he didn't like. He found good in everyone with his wonderful personality and gift of gab. He loved racing horses, deer hunting, fishing, football, and reflecting back on days gone bye. Earl made sure his children had a wonderful childhood similar to "Leave it to Beaver". Earl was born November 18, 1934, graduated from Burnet High School, followed in his grandfather's footsteps and joined H.P.D. in 1958, served as a patrolman, Homicide Detective, and Auto Theft Detective for the next 33 years. He joined Harris County Pct. 1 Constables office for 8 years after retiring from H.P.D. He also retired from Baylor College of Medicine Security, after 30 years. Earl's friend and sleeping companion, chiquito (pet dog) passed away the same day, we know that was a God thing, and they are together in the same mansion God promised us, sleeping in a special recliner big enough for the both of them. We Love you, Earl & chiquito, keep each other company until we get there, and now you can help yourself to anything in the pantry, you are in Heaven so enjoy! Love Your Family! Preceding Earl was his Mother: Verna Wamble, Father: Earl Haring Sr., and his Maw Maw: Neita Boyd. Surviving Earl, Wife: Iris Jane Haring, Daughter: Deborah Lynn Haring, Son: Kenneth Earl Haring, Grandchildren: Kayla Jane Blackmon, David Kenneth Haring, Great Grandchildren: George Blackmon, Alissa Blackmon, Special Friends: Veda and Bonnie.
