Dennis Norman RIichards, HPROA Member, passed away on May 31, 2010 at the age of 61 years.He graduated from police class #40 and retired as an Assistant Police Chief after 36 years of service with the Houston Police Department. During his career, he was assigned to the Central Division, Jail Division, Northeast Division, Community Services Division, Employment Services Division, Vice Division, Auto Theft Division, South Central Division, Management Services Administration, Information Services Command and Professional Development Command. He retired after serving over 35 years on May 8, 2004 Dennis was preceded in death by his father, Elcana Norman Richards and is survived by his daughter, Bonnie Richards; mother, Vesta Marie Richards; brother, Jay Richards and wife Joann; and numerous other loving relatives and friends.The family will be receiving friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, June 4, 2010 at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home and a funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, June 5, 2010 in the Chapel of Earthman Resthaven. Interment will follow in the Waller Cemetery on Stokes Rd.
